September 2011 Meeting - Innovate in the Cloud with Amazon EC2

On several occasions, the group has been approached by several people in the past to do a presentation on cloud services.  Specifically, people want to know how they can leverage cloud-based infrastructure services such as Amazon's Elestic Computing and make it part of their development efforts.  For the September 2011 meeting, the Tampa Java User Group will explore topics in infrastructure as a service using Amazon's Elastic Compute Cloud.

Special Guest

Leon Sverntlof (from Decide.com) has offered to provide insight into how Amazon AWS services are used in a real-life production environment for Decide.com.  We are looking forward to this and I am sure we all learn a lot.

Topics:

- Introduction to Amazon AWS

- EC2: Push here for Infrastructure

- Controls and Monitoring

- Case Study: Decide.com
