February 2011 Meeting - What Is Scala Anyway?

If you follow any of the popular Java sites, you would have heard about Scala by now (if not, you will).  Scala, according to supporters and practitioners, is enjoying modest but increasing acceptance in technological circles such as financial companies, social media companies, startups, or wherever there's a need to leverage the JVM to run a strongly typed and performant functional language.  Since Scala is part of the JVM family, why not explore it for our next Tampa Java User Group meeting.

** NOTE **

Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday March 1.  Since Feb is short, we decided to borrow from March.  Also, if you have not attended in a while, note that the location for our meeting has changed as our sponsor as changed headquarter.  See the Location Info below for the new location on Rocky Point.
